Top Tips For Beginner Boxers

Is it time for you to throw yourself into the sport? Make a mental note of these tips to help you make the most of your first class!

  • Work with professional coaches. Safety and support are important in the ring, and we only work with the BEST trainers!

  • Invest in premium equipment. Equipment can transform your training, so it’s advised to start your routine with high-quality picks. Need some guidance? We offer gloves and hand wraps at our reception to elevate your training.

  • Pair your technique lessons with cardio. Boxing includes many technical elements, but good cardiovascular health will build your endurance.

  • Combine training with a healthy diet. This isn’t a must, but if you’re serious about getting fit, start making changes in all areas of your life.

  • Accept that you might make mistakes. Boxing is a new skill, so accept that you might not nail each more straight away – and that’s okay!

  • Believe in yourself. Your mindset affects your performance more than you’d expect. So, try to turn up with confidence and an open mind – don’t be your own biggest obstacle.

  • Practice, practice, practice! No one walks into the ring with the skills of a pro (even if they claim they do). Practice is a secret weapon for new boxers.

  • Don’t overtrain. Too much of a good thing might harm your progress. Allow your body to rest after each session, or you might end up paying the price.
