Every year on 12 August, the United Nations and organisations across the globe celebrate International Youth Day. This year, the UN is focusing on the vital role young people play in turning global challenges into real solutions.
Inspired by this theme, Bil Sha Boxing Club is highlighting how boxing can empower youth and how they can get involved with BSBC. Read on to discover how we support younger boxers and how you can join our community.
What Is International Youth Day?
Before we continue, we’ll quickly run through the meaning behind International Youth Day.
Created by the United Nations, International Youth Day is a day highlighting young people’s contributions, challenges, and potential. Generally, ‘youth’ is defined as those between the ages of 10 to 18, though the spirit of the day also includes young adults who are shaping their communities.
International Youth Day also focuses on promoting their active role in sustainable development, community action, and shaping a better future worldwide. The day encourages dialogue and celebrates achievements, but more importantly, it inspires action. In short, it looks at the past, present, and future.
How the Bil Sha Boxing Club Helps Local Youth
At BSBC, we create a safe, supportive space where young people can thrive. We stress the importance of healthy habits and teach young boxers how to stay mentally resilient and physically fit while training.
Our coaches also mentor beyond the ring, helping youth build confidence and resilience in all areas of life. Through structured training, teamwork, and positive role models, we guide them toward healthier lifestyles and brighter futures, one jab and hook at a time.

How Young Ones Benefit From Boxing
Boxing has plenty of powerful benefits for all generations. But these are especially notable for young people.
Here are a few ways youths can benefit from boxing workouts and competitive boxing:
– Healthy habits — Learning to box at a young age can help to instill healthy and active habits for adulthood and beyond, especially when exercise is linked to a sport, such as boxing.
– Meaningful connections — Boxing doesn’t have to be a solo workout. Young ones can join classes, make life-long friends, and meet inspiring mentors through the sport.
– Focus and discipline — Boxing is an excellent way for young people to learn how to focus on goals and work on long-term objectives.
